Reiki Healing

There are various energy healing modalities and Reiki is one of the oldest and the most widespread amongst them. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power", and Ki which means "Life Force”. Reiki is thus the “spiritually guided life force”, or in other words a spiritual healing art.

Reiki is used to relax and de-stress the recipient and open the channels of energy in the body that may have been blocked due to stored up energy. This stored energy can come from the stress of daily life or from some childhood or past life memories or beliefs. When a body receives Reiki energy, it is like making the body aware of the energy that is not serving it anymore. The practitioner does not decide what needs to be released or when; the wisdom of the body does. The practitioner simply holds the space for the conscience to explore the possibilities of healing, so that the body is no longer tied to a dysfunctional way of being.

Reiki involves working with special symbols and activating them at the time of channeling the universal energy into the recipient’s body. Here the energy is released from the practitioner’s hands and assimilated into the recipient’s body for his/her highest good. In a Reiki session the practitioner does not rely on his/her own personal energy like acupressure, rather they are conduits for focusing the energy from the world around them.

An integral part of learning and practicing Reiki is the attunements that the practitioner receives from other Reiki Masters. These attunements open the channels in an individual, so they are in direct contact with the universal life force. Even though Reiki is available to all, it is these attunements to symbols that makes the greater flow of energy possible from an attuned practitioner’s hands than a non-attuned practitioner’s hands.

Reiki cannot be trademarked or patented by anyone. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion or any religious practice. Reiki is not only a tool for physical healing, but for mental and spiritual growth as well. As and when you progress in your levels of Reiki knowledge you will realize that it can also be used for manifesting a life of your dreams. You can direct the symbols of Reiki to the area of your life or that of others that needs attention and by doing so you will be able to heal that issue and manifest what you desire.

Children have a natural awareness of healing energy. They are very close to the flow of life.  As a result it is easy for them to learn Reiki (an ancient art of spiritual healing). They just need our support to direct their energy in the right place. Giving your children, the gift of Reiki is really a lifelong gift of healing and self-responsibility.
